Assembly Election-2024: DEO Anantnag convenes meeting of Representatives of Political Parties

ANANTNAG: The District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag, SF Hamid convened a meeting today with the representatives of various political parties to discuss the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and address other significant issues related to the upcoming Assembly elections.

During the meeting, DEO emphasised the importance of adhering to the model code of conduct, aimed to ensure free and fair elections. He outlined the responsibilities of political parties and their candidates in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.

The discussion also covered logistical arrangements, voter education, and measures to enhance transparency and prevent electoral malpractice.

Political party representatives expressed their concerns and suggestions, which were acknowledged and discussed in detail.

The DEO assured the attendees that their feedback would be taken into consideration to facilitate a transparent and effective electoral environment.

This meeting underscores the commitment of the District Election Office to uphold democratic values and ensure that the forthcoming Assembly elections are conducted in an orderly and fair manner.
