GANDERBAL: Following the announcement of Assembly elections in the Union Territory of J&K, the District Administration Ganderbal has swiftly moved to ensure full compliance with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) across the district.

All measures required under the MCC have been implemented within 24 hours to maintain fairness and transparency in the electoral process.

In a significant move, all forms of defacement on government property, including wall writings, posters, banners, hoardings, flags, and cutouts, have been removed throughout the district.

This action underscores the administration’s commitment to upholding the integrity of public spaces during the election period.

To further strengthen the enforcement of the MCC, the district has activated multiple teams, including Flying Squads, Static Surveillance Teams (SSTs), and Video Surveillance Teams, to monitor and prevent any violations.

Intensive checks for the illicit movement of liquor, cash, and contraband drugs are being conducted, with the Excise department’s flying squads actively working to curb narcotics trafficking.

In addition, a Complaint Monitoring System has been established to ensure timely redressal of grievances.

All necessary IT applications, including the official website and social media platforms, are fully operational to provide citizens with up-to-date information and to facilitate smooth communication.

To oversee media-related activities during the election period, a Media Centre has been set up, and Media Certification and Monitoring Committees (MCMC) have been formed at the district level. These committees will ensure that all media content adheres to the guidelines set forth under the MCC.

For public convenience, a 24×7 Control Room has been established, where citizens can reach out with any concerns or complaints. The Control Room is accessible through the following contact numbers: 1950, 1800-180-7052, 0194-2416199, 0194-2416789, 0194-2416260, and 0194-2416261.

The District Administration of Ganderbal remains committed to ensuring that all actions required under the MCC are implemented effectively and within the stipulated time frame.
