Operation of 4 medical sale establishments disallowed at Mir Bazar Anantnag

ANANTNAG: On specific inputs regarding unethical practices/sale of drugs prone to addiction by Noor Pharmacy Khrewan Anantnag, a team of Drug Control Officers and police post-Mirbazar conducted a surprise raid at the firm.

During the raid, the said firm was found to have stocked and sold huge quantities of medicines prone to addiction, it also failed to produce any sale record and subsequently, operation of the said firm was disallowed till further orders.

The team also inspected more than 8 firms in the area and the operation of other 3 firms namely Salman medical store, Healthzone medical store and Manzoor pharmacy Furrah have also been disallowed for failing to adopt a computerized billing system despite directions and circulars issued by Drug Control department Anantnag and District Administration Anantnag.

The chemists in the area were sensitized to maintain the purchase and sale records of all the medicines digitally and as per the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act. They were also directed to resist dispensing of any scheduled medicines without the prescription of Registered medical practitioner, failure may invite strict action including cancellation of their licenses.
