Even though it still remains among the top 50 universities, the decline however is visibly discernible!

In the overall category, which includes universities, colleges, engineering and technology institutions, management schools, research institutions, and pharmacy colleges, Kashmir University’s rank again dropped from 58th last year to 69th this year.

The NIRF 2024 rankings were released by Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday. According to the rankings, IIT Madras was declared the top institution in the country in the overall category. AIIMS, IIM Ahmedabad, and Hindu College also topped their respective categories. In the Open Universities category, Indira Gandhi National Open University secured the first position.

In the university rankings, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore was ranked first, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in second place, Jamia Millia Islamia in third, Manipal Academy of Higher Education in fourth, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in fifth, and Delhi University (DU) in sixth.
