ANANTNAG: Principal Secretary of Higher Education, Alok Kumar, presided over a public darbar at Dak Bungalow Khanabal to provide a platform for the local residents to raise their issues and concerns for redressal.

The public darbar was attended by District Development Council Chairman, MY Gorsi, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, SF Hamid and other senior officers. A large number of residents and representatives of trade bodies among others were also present.

During the event, the locals and various public representatives highlighted their grievances.

The Principal Secretary assured the participants that all their genuine issues raised in the public Darbar would be redressed in a time-bound manner.

Alok Kumar also issued on-the-spot directions to officers for prompt redressal.

The Principal Secretary also appreciated the District Administration and said that the administration is doing well in mitigating local issues besides ensuring growth and development in the District.

Alok Kumar remarked that this initiative has generated positive responses from the citizens who find it very easy to interact with the highest officers of the Administration.

Addressing the Darbar, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Public Darbars are an initiative of the government wherein the highest functionaries of the government preside over grievance redressal camps to resolve the issues of the public at the grassroots level.
