Investigating the case, police carried out sustained interrogation of suspects. Together with the examination of evidences and analysis of technical data, four accused persons — Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie, son of Late Ghulam Nabi; Fatima Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie; Rubeena Bano, daughter of Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie; and Aadil Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, of Gundbal Pattan, Baramulla – were identified and arrested.

Police said the investigation revealed that the accused persons hatched a conspiracy to kill the victim on August 01, and accordingly strangulated him to death using a ‘Dupatta’ and later disposed of the body under the bridge.
