Srinagar: Police have arrested a “wanted” drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed.
He said at a checkpoint established at Wussan Pattan, police intercepted and later arrested one Mohammad Amir Dar, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Khambiyar, Palhallan. During his search, 3.250 kgs of poppy straw was recovered from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.
