DLSA Srinagar commemorates ‘World Tribal Day’

SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Srinagar in collaboration with NGO Justice Foundation Observed ‘World Tribal Day’ on August 9, 2024, at Nowgam Srinagar.

The event was held under the guidance of Jawad Ahmed, Chairman DLSA Srinagar (PDJ, Srinagar) and under the supervision of Jahangir Ahmed Bakshi, Secretary DLSA Srinagar.

Officials, legal aid defense counsels and para-legal volunteers of DLSA Srinagar attended the event.

On the occasion, food items were distributed among the residents of the Tribal areas of Nowgam, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to improving the lives of marginalized communities.

Sunila (JLA) and Tasneem Kausar, Deputy LADC, highlighted the importance of upholding tribal rights. Urba Rashid and Sehar Nazir emphasized the need for greater awareness and action to protect these communities, underscoring the role of free legal aid in ensuring equitable access to justice for marginalized groups.

DLSA Srinagar is committed to working alongside tribal communities to address their concerns and ensure they have access to justice and essential services.

The event served as a platform for raising awareness about the unique challenges faced by tribal communities and promoting understanding and inclusion.
