Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was arrested on Thursday to prevent him from leading any protests against the civilian killings, said a spokesman.
A spokesman of the party said that a police party arrived at the Maisuma residence of Malik and detained him.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar placed under house arrest to prevent him from leading a protest against the recent civilian killings.
A spokesman of the party said that heavy deployment of Police arrived at Mirwaiz Manzil Nigeen & informed him about his house confinement.
Separatists has called for a protest shutdown today against the killing of senior journalist Shujaat Bukhari and three civilians during past week in the valley.
