Srinagar, Jul 16: Taking cognizance of the pro-Palestine protest during 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar, police have registered a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against unidentified persons for “raising objectionable slogans having potential to disrupt peace”.

The police action came a day after Shia mourners, as a mark of solidarity with the people of Palestine, waved Palestinian flags and shouted anti-Israel chants during the 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar.
