Srinagar: Police in Baramulla booked one person under the Public Safety Act, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
The booked person identified as Bashir Ahmad Beigh, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, resident of Shirpora Chandoosa Baramulla, has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Srinagar after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, police said.
It said that many cases are registered against him and that he was involved in disturbance of law and order and subversion. “Despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his anti-national & anti-social activities,” police said.
