Srinagar: Police have booked a “notorious” drug smuggler under the PIT-NDPS Act in Sopore, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said drug smuggler Altaf Hussain Yatoo, son of Farooq Ahmad Yatoo of Chijhama Rafiabad, has been booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. He has been taken into custody and is now being held in the Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal, Jammu.
Police said that many cases have been registered against him as he was involved in the “drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to the local youth” of Sopore and other areas.
