Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has paid rich tributes to Mirwaiz South Kashmir Doctor Moulana Qazi Nisar on his death anniversary.
Terming Qazi as a prolific Kashmiri scholar, religious, political and social leader, Malik, in a statement issued here, said that his struggle and sacrifices cannot be ignored by any one and today we all express our gratitude and love for that noble soul.
Yasin Malik said that personalities like Mirwaiz Qazi Nisar are rarely born and today when we remember this great soul, we recall his sacrifices, valor and passion for freedom. JKLF chairman prayed for the heavenly abode of great martyr.
Meanwhile, the statement said that JKLF chairman visited SKIMS Soura where he enquired about the health condition of a injured Kashmiri Abdul Majeed Waar from Soura who was injured by pellets on Eid.
JKLF chairman on the occasion said that from the last day of holy month Ramadhan, oppression in entire valley has risen to new heights and three innocents including Vikas Ahmad, Zeeshan Ahmad and Ajaz Ahmad have fallen to the bullets of government forces while as hundreds stand critically injured including Abdul Majeed Waar of Soura.
The statement said that a delegation from Shopian today visited JKLF office at Srinagar and informed JKLF chairman of various young boys who have been arrested and tortured by forces in recent days. Delegation said that recently Army and SOG raided the residence of a journalist Syed Tajamul Imran at Nazneenpora Shopian during night; forces searched their residence from 11:30 to 2:00 AM, caught hold of Syed Tajamul and his younger brother Syed Ruban and tortured them ruthlessly in front of their parents. Forces even took photographs of little Syed Ruban after placing Rifles on him which actually has worried the family a lot.
Malik while strongly condemning this brutality, said that this atrocious attitude has pushed thousands of young Kashmiris to the wall resulting in promoting violence and destruction in Jammu Kashmir.
Meanwhile funeral prayers in absentia were held at Lal Chowk (Gaw-Kadal) for Vikas Ahmad, Zeeshan Ahmad and Ajaz Ahmad.
