Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said police intercepted a vehicle (JK03L-5348) driven by one Bilal Ahmad Reshi, son of Mohammad Abdullah Reshi of Danew Nagnaran, Anantnag, at a checkpoint at Shampora Crossing. During the search, 3.2 kgs of poppy straw and a digital weighing machine were recovered. He has been arrested and the vehicle seized, police said, adding a case has been registered for further investigation.
