The show, part of the newly established ‘Dagger Heritage Complex,’ is the first of its kind in the region and promises to be a major attraction for tourists and locals alike. Over twenty-eight minutes, the show takes the audience on a nostalgic journey through the centuries of Kashmir Valley’s documented history, narrated by the ancient “Boniyar Temple,” built by the Avantiwarman rulers in the 12th century AD. The narration is delivered by the legendary Radio Kashmir broadcaster, Talha Jehangir.

The Laser, Light, and Sound Show presents the geological and mystical evolution of the Kashmir Valley, often referred to as “Heaven on Earth.” It details how the valley, nestled between the mighty Himalayas and drained by the River Jhelum, has attracted diverse ethnic groups over the centuries, contributing to its rich historical and cultural tapestry. The audience learns about the various dynasties that ruled Kashmir and their influence on its cultural and religious evolution.

A significant portion of the show is dedicated to showcasing the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian Army in countering the continuous threats posed by adversaries aiming to destabilize the region. It concludes on an optimistic note, envisioning a future of peace, harmony, and development while preserving Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage.

Complementing the show is the well-designed “Dagger Museum,” which highlights the valour, sacrifices, and social welfare initiatives of the Indian Army in Kashmir. The museum helps visitors appreciate the efforts of India’s Security Forces in ensuring the safety and freedom of Kashmir and the nation.

The creation of this spectacular show was made possible with the support of the Punit Balan Group. The concept and design were developed by the Pir Panjal Brigade and brought to life by Creative Laser Systems, Bangalore. The show is expected to boost tourism, drawing both locals and visitors to Boniyar. Improved accessibility, including the widening of the Baramulla-Uri highway and the construction of a railway line to Uri, will further enhance Boniyar’s appeal as a prime destination on the tourist map of the Union Territory.
