Matoo appointed new DIG South Kashmir

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced the transfer and posting of several police officers.

According to an order issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government, Javid Iqbal Matoo has been appointed as DIG South Kashmir, while Altaf Khan has been named the new DIG IR Kashmir.

The order states: “Altaf Ahmad Khan, IPS, DIG South Kashmir Range, is transferred and posted as DIG IR Kashmir, replacing Shri Abdul Qayoom, IPS. Shri Abdul Qayoom, IPS, DIG IR Kashmir, is transferred and posted as DIG Crime, J&K, replacing Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS. Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS, DIG Crime, J&K, is transferred and posted as DIG South Kashmir Range, replacing Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan, IPS.”

Additionally, the order reads: “Ch. Iftkhar Ahmed, JKPS, Addl. SP Pulwama is transferred and posted as Dy. CO IR-24 Bn., against an available vacancy. Shafat Mohammad Najar, JKPS, awaiting adjustment upon promotion to SP, is posted as Addl. SP Pulwama, replacing Ch. Iftkhar Ahmed.”
