Srinagar: Police on Saturday claimed to have solved online frauds and put on hold lakhs of rupees, besides having traced out 16 missing/lost smartphones worth lakhs of rupees in Ganderbal.
A police spokesperson said that acting on complaints about online money scams and missing cell phones, a team of Cyber Cell Ganderbal “solved a huge online money scam and put on hold/lien Rs 6,20,000 while Rs 39,900 have been refunded to the victim’s account.”
The police team also recovered 16 missing/lost smart cell phones worth lakhs and recovered six hacked social media accounts (Facebook & Whatsapp),” the spokesperson said.
