Srinagar: Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Tasaduq Hussain on Wednesday said that there was no immediate plan to announce summer vacations in schools across Kashmir as the “weather is pleasant”.
He also said that there was no proposal for any change in the school timings. “The weather is pleasant, it is 32 degrees Celsius,” Hussain told media persons during an interaction.
He said the government is monitoring the situation and that they will take call in case of any extreme weather conditions.
He said that the department wants to make students resilient to weather vagaries and other tough conditions so that they become stronger to face any difficult situation in future.
He said that if summer vacations are announced in the month of May, then “what we are going to do in June and July months?”
The remarks of DSEK come as a heat wave sweeps across north India with Kashmir valley also experiencing above normal temperatures.
