DM Kulgam bans movement of heavy vehicles on Brazloo Bridge

Srinagar: The District Magistrate of Kulgam issued a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles on Brazloo Bridge in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate of Kulgam, a copy of which is available with the News Agency Kashmir Scroll, it has been brought to their attention that some spans of the Brazloo Bridge have deteriorated. Due to the deteriorating condition of the bridge, it has become necessary to immediately halt heavy vehicular movement on it to prevent any major mishap.

“Therefore, in view of the above, it is hereby ordered that there shall be a complete ban on the movement of Heavy Motor Vehicles on Brazloo Bridge henceforth,” the order reads.

“The Heavy Motor Vehicles (Trucks/Dumpers/Tippers/Tractors/Load Carriers, JCBs etc) shall use Chambgund Pahloo Road and Wanpoh Kulgam Road. Furthermore, there shall be strict regulation of light motor vehicles on the bridge by the Traffic Police,” it further states.

“The Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam shall ensure the strict enforcement of this order,” it concludes.
