Mudasir Ahmad Tantray, an independent candidate from Handwara, filed his nomination before the Returning Officer for 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, Minga Sherpa.

Nomination papers on behalf of Independent candidate, Abdul Rashid Sheikh from Langate were also submitted at the office of Returning Officer, an official press release informed.

Rashid’s son, who is covering the candidate for his father, appealed to all political parties to support his father’s candidature. He particularly appealed to Ghulam Nabi Azad to support his father.

“My father’s vote made Azad a Rajya Sabha member. I appeal to him to support my father in this election for the dignity and honour of the Kashmiri people,” he said.

He said that his father was accused of being an agent of ISI, IB and other agencies but he proved that he was an agent of the Kashmiri people. He stands for the people of Kashmir,” Rashid’s son said.
