Party Vice President Omar Abdullah led road shows in Padar, Nagseni and Gulabgarh on the second consecutive day of his tour to the region, seeking support for the INDIA Alliance candidate.

Rumblings at the grassroots in Udhampur, Jammu, do not corroborate the development narrative that the BJP is peddling, Omar said addressing a series of meetings in Gulabgarh today.

The sentiment against BJP, Omar said: “Resonates across the constituency spread over 16 Assembly segments and the districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur and Kathua. Notwithstanding BJPs claims of “development” in the region for the past 10 years, the area’s unemployed youth are not convinced by the feel-good narrative. The dominant view is that non-local people are pocketing government jobs and business contracts. Youth continue to suffer from unemployability, loss of contracts to non-locals and widespread unaccountability.”
