Udhampur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has challenged the opposition parties, especially the Congress to announce bringing back Article 370 and that terrorism, separatism and stone throwing are no more election issues in Jammu and Kashmir now.

Addressing a poll rally in Udhampur, PM Modi as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that people of the country will not look towards the Congress if they talk of bringing back Article 370.

He said that political parties of Jammu and Kashmir created a barrier of Article 370 between J&K and the rest of the country. “Political parties here want to take J&K back to old days when politics and elections for them meant of the party, by the party and for the party but Modi government has demolished this barrier,” he added.

He said that now, NC, PDP and the Congress are going outside and asking people of other states what benefit they have got after abrogation of article 370.

“Ask women of J&K how their rights have been given back. Ask Dalits and Valmikis who have got rights ensured in the Constitution which were not there till the abrogation of this article,” he added.

He also said that Jammu and Kashmir has got rid of terrorism, separatism and stone throwing and no more youths of the valley are getting attracted to this menace.

He said that since 2014 a strong dent has been given to terrorism and separatism and these are no more issues during these elections.

“Earlier, conducting the Vasihno Devi and Amarnath yatra peacefully used to be a big task and when one day of yatra would pass off peacefully, people would think how to make it peaceful next day. In the last 10 years, we have tightened the noose around terrorists and separatists and next five years you will see new heights of development,” PM Modi said—(KNO)
