SRINAGAR, JUNE 12: Governor was presented “Quranic Plants and Animals” by Prof N.A. Zeerak of SKUAST-K, at Raj Bhavan today.
This volume, written by Prof. Zeerak, identifies and comments on the plants and animal species mentioned in the verses of the Holy Quran. The author has described them according to their botanical and zoological names and the roles which they have played in the evolution of human advancement.
Governor appreciated the research work done by Prof. Zeerak, who is known for his work in plant bio-diversity, and hoped that this volume will enable scholars and the lay readers to gain a better understanding of the messages contained in the Holy Book. He wished Prof. Zeerak success in his future endeavours.
