Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said at a checkpoint at Kulangam near Tutigund crossing, police intercepted a vehicle (JK09-5672) with two persons on board. During search, 40 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the possession of Sajad Ahmed Bakshi (driver), son of Ghulam Mohammad Bakshi of Maidan Chogal, and Nisar Ahmed Khan, son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan of Tutigund travelling in the said vehicle. Both the accused were arrested and the vehicle seized, police said.
