Thousands attend last rites of Slain Cop in Rafiabad

Rafiabad: Thousands of people across Rafiabad area on Tuesday attended the last rites of slain cop of Wohlutra Panzala area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An eye witness said that thousands of mourners across Rafiabad, including men, women and elderly, assembled in Wohlutra Rafiabad native village of one of the slain cop Ghulam Hassan Wagay who along with other cop Ghulam Rasool Lone of Gayal lolab Kupwara was killed in a militant attack in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district last night.

Amid slogans Wagay was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard, witnesses said.

Pertinently, Wagay was killed along with other cop of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after a group of militants attacked the police post guarding a new court complex at Takiya Wagam in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Meanwhile, the militants also managed to take away two INSAS service rifles of the slain cops.
