CJ inaugurates e-Seva Kendra, Litigants’ Facility in District Court Complex Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Chief Justice High Court of J&K and Ladakh, N Kotiswar Singh, accompanied by Justice Javid Iqbal, Judge High Court of J&K and Ladakh (Administrative Judge of District Ganderbal) today inaugurated the Litigants’ friendly public access booth known as e-Seva Kendra besides dedicating Litigants’ Facility (waiting facility) to the general public at District Court complex Ganderbal.

He also monitored the ongoing proceedings of National Lok Adalat held here today.

The Chief Justice was given Guard of Honor by the Jammu and Kashmir Police of Ganderbal district.

The Judicial Officers of the district besides Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shaymbir, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta and members of the Ganderbal Bar Association expressed gratitude to the Chief Justice for addressing the common problems faced by the Litigants, general public, lawyers and the staff manning affairs of the court.

The Chief Justice inaugurated the Litigants’ Facility and interacted with the public on the spot. He also issued certain directions to make further improvements in the facility, to make it accessible to the general public irrespective of their physical condition.

The Chief Justice directed the District Administration as well as the Registry of High Court to ensure that necessary steps are taken to undertake the construction of the New Court Complex on the land already earmarked for the District Judiciary.

On the occasion, e-Mulakat was arranged for the litigants through E-seva Kendra from the remote end of District Jail Varanasi where one of the accused persons has been kept in Judicial Custody.

The Chief Justice, while monitoring the e-Mulakat of the litigants, appreciated the District Judiciary for achieving the milestone. He issued certain instructions to expand the horizon of the e-Seva Kendra facility being provided under e-Seva Kendra to make it more user-friendly to cover the needs of the common masses.

Later, the Chief Justice also inspected and monitored various benches constituted for conducting National Lok Adalat and also interacted with various parties to the litigations.

While inspecting the proceedings in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, the Chief Justice settled 4 Matrimonial Cases. He highlighted the importance of tolerance, trust and faith, love and affection and mutual forbearance among the couples for the sustainability of good matrimonial relations.

He appreciated the efforts of Bar and Bench in properly addressing the social problems in a sympathetic and humane manner.

Instructions were passed by the Chief Justice to conduct a trial of matrimonial cases in camera to maintain privacy in matrimonial relations entangled in litigations before the courts.

Emphasizing upon the importance of National Lok Adalat and amicable settlements through Lok Adalat, the Chief Justice impressed upon the public as well as lawyers to take due advantage of ADRs as it is cost-effective and time-saving and they restore impaired relations.

The Chief Justice was accompanied by M.K Sharma, Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, OSD to Chief Justice and Registrar Judicial High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Abdul Bari, Joint Registrar (Judicial) High Court of J&K and Ladakh.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Qureshi, who is also holding the charge of Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ganderbal apprised the Chief Justice of various problems and ongoing projects.

Mainaaz Qadir, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Ganderbal; Waseem Mirza, Munsiff Ganderbal also participated in the event.

Lastly, the Chief Justice along with the Administrative Judge took stock of the infrastructural issues and passed necessary directions in this regard. Besides, they also interacted with the members of the Bar Association and staff members of the Judiciary.
