Rajouri Adm finalizes Shab-e-Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr arrangements

RAJOURI JUNE 10: The District Administration Rajouri finalized arrangements regarding cleanliness, traffic management, availability of essential services, medical facilities etc ahead of Shab e Qadar and Eid ul Fitr here at a meeting of district officers held under chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.

The chair directed the district officers to put in extra efforts for the convenience of the people during these auspicious days and ensure all the basic amenities are available to the people. He said the cleanliness and sanitation of lanes and drains, grand mosques in the town and Eidgahs where congregational prayers are to be offered should be prioritised by the municipal committee and non-functional street lights be replaced for convenience of the commuters.

Regarding the availability of essentials, he directed Assistant Director FCS& CA to make available adequate  food grains at all the depots and asked him to personally monitor the distribution and ensure that the adequate quota of ration reaches to the people well in time.

“There should be no power curtailment during Shab e Qadar, remaining days of Ramadan and on the day of Eid,” the DC asked the ExEn PDD and also directed the concerned from PHE to make available clean drinking water to all without any shortfall. They were directed to keep the field staff sensitized for timely repair of damages, if any, to the supply lines of PDD and PHE for ensuring continuity of services.

The Deputy Commissioner called for intensifying market checking by enforcement authorities to keep check on overcharging and quality eatables, ,   black marketing and hoarding of essentials by traders. He said directed to take strict action   against erring traders for not maintaining food safety norms. It should also be ensured that rate lists approved by the administration are displayed conspicuously inside the shops.

The plan for keeping critical care ambulances and fire and emergency vehicles on standby at specific locations, traffic management and adequate security arrangements were also thoroughly discussed and finalised in the meeting.

Similar meetings were also convened at Nowshera by ADC Sachin Dev Singh, Koteranka by ADC Shafiq Ahmad, Kalakote by ADC Khalid Hussain, Sunderbani by ADC Gurmukh Singh and Thana Mandi by SDM Afzal Mirza with concerned sectoral officers to review the availability of essential services.
