Tangmarg: A massive fire tore through Hotel Pine Palace Platinum in Gulmarg on Wednesday, leaving behind a trail of destruction as the inferno consumed the entire structure.
“The blaze erupted from the hotel’s roof at 11:15 am, swiftly spreading, the flames engulfed the establishment, gutting 15 double beds and reducing the hotel to ashes,” said Nazir Ahmed Mir, the proprietor of Hotel Pine Palace Platinum adding that the challenging road conditions hampered efforts to contain the fire.
“Initial investigations into the cause of the fire point to an electrical short circuit. However, further inquiry is underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the catastrophic blaze,” said an official.
“Fortunately, neighbouring hotels were spared from damage due to the swift response of firefighting teams and the concerted efforts of the local community,” he said.
