ANANTNAG: In a continued effort towards addressing public issues and grievances at the grassroots level, Commissioner Secretary, Science & Technology Saurabh Bhagat, today convened a grievances redressal camp here at Achabal.

The Commissioner Secretary emphasized the pivotal role of such public outreach programs in bridging the gap between the administration and the citizens. He highlighted the significance of senior government officials engaging directly with the people to assess and address their issues and concerns. He emphasized upon the officers to ensure time-bound redressal of all public issues and concerns. He emphasized on cent percent implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes on the ground with a visible impact on the overall development and welfare of the people. He also stressed on saturation of Social Security Schemes by covering all left-out beneficiaries.

Saurabh Bhagat along with district officers actively engaged with the attendees to understand their needs and challenges as well.

Heads of various government departments including Revenue, Police, Power, Health, Education, Public Works, Agriculture and allied departments, were present to address sector-specific concerns of the people present during the public darbar.

The Commissioner Secretary after listening to the grievances and demands of the public, sought an on-the-spot response from the concerned district officers present in the grievance redressal camp. He assured the public that all genuine demands and issues projected by them would be looked into on priority for redressal.

The Commissioner Secretary commended the youth of the Anantnag district for increasingly venturing into entrepreneurship. He noted that entrepreneurship has the potential to serve as an untapped source of economic growth, with entrepreneurs evolving into job providers rather than job seekers. He emphasized the vast opportunities available in other sectors such as sheep farming, dairy farming, and trout fish farming saying that the district’s favourable geographical location makes it conducive for diversifying into these areas.

He urged upon the unemployed youth to take advantage of various government schemes and explore opportunities in these sectors making their contribution towards the generation of dignified employment avenues, fostering economic growth in the district, he asserted. He emphasized the need for the community to be aware of the government initiatives, ensuring sustainable development and prosperity of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, S F Hamid, said that the decisions taken during the previous public grievance redressal camp with regard to the redressal of public issues and demands are being implemented in letter and spirit for the public good. He added that timely redressal of public grievances and their quality disposal in a time-bound manner is among the top priorities of the present administration.
