Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered psychotropic, contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman informed Friday.

He said in Baramulla, at a checkpoint established at Gantamulla Colony, police intercepted and later arrested one Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Pehliharan, after 72 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from his possession.

In Kulgam, at a checkpoint at Margibal Gojjarpora, police arrested one Sayar Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Salam Mir of Waripora, after 2.5 Kgs of poppy straw concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from his possession. His motorcycle (JK03D-8782) has also been seized.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations with regard to these arrests.
