Gurupurab celebrated with religious zeal across Kashmir

Devotees; Div Com, IGP, DC Sgr visit Chatti Padshahi Gurdwara

 Srinagar: Sikh devotees thronged Gurudwaras on Wednesday as they celebrated the Prakash Parv – Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday.

Major congregation was held at Gurudwara Chatti Padshahi in Rainawari Srinagar in this regard where special prayers were held. Devotees on the occasion prayed for peace, prosperity and well-being of all, besides divine mercy was sought to end the ongoing dry spell in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hundreds of devotees gathered at Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi in Srinagar to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthday.

On the auspicious occasion, the devotees held special prayers for the snowfall and rain amidst the prolonged dry spell in the Kashmir valley.

The atmosphere at the Gurdwara was filled with joy and spiritual fervor as devotees from different walks of life came together to honor the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru.

Amidst the faithful engaged in prayers and hymns, the devotees sought blessings for prosperity, peace and unity.

The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri along with IGP Kashmir, V K Birdi and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din also visited Chattipatshahi Gurudwara Rainawari on the occasion of 358th Prakash Parv of tenth guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

On the occasion, Div Com and other officers greeted followers of Sikhism and devotees who had visited in large numbers to Gurudwara to celebrate the birthday of Sikh Guru.

Addressing the devotees, Div Com prayed for communal harmony, brotherhood, peace and prosperity in the region and country.

Reports said that similar gatherings took place in other parts of Kashmir Valley where members of the community rushed to Gurudwaras and prayed for peace and well-being.
