Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman informed Wednesday.

He said at a checkpointthe  established at Jetty road Khawajabagh, police intercepted and later arrested Aqib Ahmad Bhat alias Ponty, son of Abdul Salam Bhat of Sherwani Colony Khawajabagh, after 25 grams of brown sugar-like substances was recovered from his possession.

At Mulgam Kunzer, 1.5 Kgs of cannabis powder-like substance was recovered from the possession of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, son of Abdul Samad Sheikh of Mulgam, who was arrested.

Police also said during investigation of an earlier case at Kunzer, one more drug peddler identified as Shabir Ahmad Sofi alias JK, son of Abdul Khaliq, resident of Mazhama Magam was arrested at Chichiloora, and 15 grams of cannabis-like substance was also recovered from his possession.
