Highlighting the importance of the Public Darbar, MD NHM said that public outreach programs act as a bridge between the administration and the people, where the highest level government functionaries connect with people and redress their grievances.

The Mission Director said, “I am encouraged to see the youth in the Kupwara district turning to entrepreneurship which is an important untapped source of economic growth. Entrepreneurs are becoming job providers rather than job seekers.

He said that Kupwara district is famous for walnut and honey production and there is a great scope in sheep farming, dairy farming and trout fish farming due to the conducive geographical location of the district.

He emphasized that unemployed youth of the district should take benefit of different schemes of the government and turn towards these sectors and generate dignified employment avenues.

The Deputy Commissioner said, “demands of the Public are aspirational as people want better than the best day by day. It is better to prioritize the demands. Given the limited resources and capacity, we will try to redress the genuine issues and demands.”

She congratulated officers of district administration for the successful conduct of VBSY in which all 385 Panchayats and 39 Municipal wards were covered and several schemes were saturated. The DC expressed her gratitude to the people of the district for their active participation and cooperation.

She further said that service delivery in the district has improved and there is development in all sectors.

While replying to the demands raised by the public, DC announced at the occasion that Operation Theatre of Sub District Hospital Kralpora will be operationalized under the Aspirational District Plan within two months and directed CMO Kupwara to meet the deadline.

DC said that for the augmentation and infrastructure development of the power sector in the district, RDSS is underway which will help to improve the power scenario in the district to a great extent.

Vice Chairman of District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Mir also spoke on the occasion. He said that all schemes are being implemented in the district satisfactorily and with utmost dedication.

VC demanded an ATM in Kralpora town and the development of infrastructure of the Government higher secondary school Kralpora.

During the event, under the Meri Kahani-Meri Zubani theme, various success stories pertaining to the golden card, HADP of the Sheep Husbandry Department, accidental insurance of the PM social security Scheme and Honey production were shared by beneficiaries. They urged youth to come forward and earn a dignified livelihood through welfare schemes.

Earlier, MD NHM along with VC DDC and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara inspected the stalls, participated in a plantation drive and e-inaugurated four development projects recently completed in the area.
