DLIC finalises opening of Business Centres in far-flung areas

RAJOURI, JUNE 07: The District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) which met under the chairmanship of District Magistrate finalised deployment of additional Business Correspondents and opening of Business Centres (BC) in various areas not covered by banking in the district.

ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, CPO A H Choudhary, SDM Afzal Mirza, Staff Officer Mohammad Raiyaz,  LDM Banks Parvez Mir, heads of various banks and representatives of NABARD and RBI attended the meeting which reviewed the proposals formulated by committees headed by Addl Deputy Commissioners, SDMs and Tehsildars constituted by the District Magistrate earlier.

The opening of banking Business Centres in these areas will provide much-required banking facilities thereby acting as a major relief for the population where no banks are located in 5-10 KM area. This will also provide an additional business-cum-employment opportunity for hundreds of youth in the district over a period of time.

The DLIC approved more than 70 Business Centres in the district. These include 10 in Koteranka, 11 in Khwas, 2 in Sunderbani, 3 in Tryathy, 5 in Kalakote, 5 in Darhal, 3 in Beripattan, 3 in Manjakote, 8 in Thannamandi, 4 in Nowshera, 3 in Qila Darlah and 13 in Rajouri Tehsil.

The Business Centres are proposed at Phalni, Draj, Mandir Gala, Swari, Prori Gujjran, Rehan, Jamola, Kanthol, Chambitrar, Budhal, Gundi, Kandal, Gadyod, Dhaleri, Keri, Gunda, Bhela, Udhan, Narla, Ghai bass, Khorebanni, Patrara, Bhamblya, Treru, Thanna, Kalka Mathiyani, Garn, Panjah, Metka, Dharamsal, Brari, Khoriwali, Sabzi, Lower Dodaj, Kurhad, Lower Ujhan, Dharat, Thangar, Nah, Kakora, Ghambir Mughlan, BG, Manyal, Shahdra, Badakhanna, Dodasan Chwatta, Rajdhani, Banghai, Mangota, Kote upper, Jhangar/Khamba, Dhanaka, Breri, Narian, Qila Darhal, Rajpur Kamila, Laroka, Sasalkote, Plullian, Doongi, PB, Fatehpur, Gurdan Bala, Challas, Dharat, Bagla Nadyala, Dhanore and other villages.

The business representatives appointed at these BCs will also be awarded Rs 20 each for No Frill account, Rs 50 per savings account and 0.5% cash handling charges. BCs will also be provided with various financial services.

The Banks have been asked to update the progress in the coverage of uncovered/ additional BCs on PMJDY F1 Plan. The DLIC also decided to explore more potential areas for the opening of BCs wherever banking services are not available upto 5 KM distance.
