ANANTNAG: Director Horticulture Kashmir, G. R. Mir Saturday attended a significant awareness camp at Dooru Shahabad, Anantnag, aimed at empowering the horticulture community and stakeholders in the region.

The event witnessed active participation from various dignitaries, including DDC members, ex-chairman of the Municipal Committee and the Joint Director of Horticulture.

Additionally, the camp drew the presence of officers and officials from the Department, members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and a large number of orchardists.

In his address, the Director of Horticulture underscored the department’s vision and ongoing initiatives. He emphasized the pivotal role of horticulture in propelling the region’s overall development.

The key focus of the programme was to impart crucial awareness about the Union Territory and centrally sponsored schemes, prominently featuring HADP (Holistic Agriculture Development Programme), High-Density Plantation Scheme, and MIDH (Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture).

Technical guidance sessions conducted by experts from the department were instrumental in equipping attendees with valuable technical insight.

The event served as a platform for stakeholders to engage directly with the department, fostering a collaborative environment for the mutual benefit of the horticulture community.
