SRINAGAR: The ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ (VBSY) culminated on Saturday with great success in Srinagar city.

Over nine days, the yatra traversed all Municipal wards of the city, including Ward No.33 (Humhama), Ward No.34 (Pantha Chowk), and Ward No.35 (Bagh-e-Mehtab) today, engaging citizens and promoting the government’s flagship schemes.

From December 15th, 2023, the yatra reached 35 locations, including prominent areas such as Nishat, Lal Chowk, Dal, Kralyar, Habakadal, Zainakadal, Khanyar, Makhdoom Sahib, Madin Sahib, Hawal, Lal Bazar, Hazratbal, Batpora, Zakura, Ahmad Nagar, Soura, Nowshera, Safa Kadal, Palpora, Jamalatta, Islamyarbal, Karanagar, Qamarwari, Bemina, Parimpora, Lawaypora, Khomani Chowk, Batmaloo, Magarmal Bagh and Jawahar Nagar.

 The enthusiastic participation of a large number of people underscored the yatra’s focus on achieving the widespread implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).

The primary objectives of the yatra were to aware and facilitate access to all essential government schemes viz. Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, PM PRANAM Yojana, Urea Subsidy Scheme and PM SVANidhi.

Throughout the yatra, government departments established stalls at each location to offer on-the-spot services such as free health check-ups, Aadhaar card issuance and updates, and loans under the PM SVANidhi Yojana. Thousands of beneficiaries availed of different CSSs.

The yatra also witnessed huge pledge participation from the general public and government officials, affirming their commitment to contribute towards the vision of a developed India.
