The departments have also directed to submit compliance report(s), indicating the number of such cases settled to the GAD on a fortnightly basis for the further perusal of chief secretary.

The GAD has further advised the departments that those SRO-43 cases which lie within the competence of the administrative department/head of department, shouldn’t be referred to it.

Under SRO 43, the kin of those killed in militancy or border shelling-firing-related acts and the Government employees who died during services were eligible for jobs in government departments.  It was replaced by a new compassionate appointment policy, which came into effect on January 1, 2023.
