The primary agenda of the meeting was the augmentation of passenger amenities at stations. Discussions encompassed key aspects such as the extension of platforms, elevation of platform levels, installation of washable aprons, provision of second entries, construction of foot over bridges, installation of escalators, and provision of lifts catering to Divyangjans. The GM also underscored the importance of enhancing station buildings, including façade improvements.

Shobhan Chaudhuri meticulously reviewed the progress in mobility enhancement, developmental infrastructure projects, freight loading operations, and safety protocols on railway tracks. Emphasizing the critical role of crew management, he directed the efficient utilization of manpower and urged the maintenance of punctuality records for trains.

The GM emphasized expediting works related to mobility enhancement and encouraged the implementation of drives to monitor progress closely. Furthermore, Chaudhuri assessed efforts to improve the maintenance standards of tracks, welds, and the removal of scrap adjacent to the tracks. He also scrutinized tree cutting activities and vegetation removal along the tracks.

With a focus on minimizing human errors in train operations, the GM called for extensive monitoring of rail fractures and welds, leaving no room for oversight. He urged officers to enhance their inspection activities to evaluate both the progress of ongoing works and train operations.

Highlighting the steady increase in the loading of food grains and other items on a monthly basis, General Manager Shobhan Chaudhuri reiterated Northern Railway’s commitment to providing safe, smooth, and efficient services to its customers.

Chief Public Relations Officer Deepak Kumar conveyed these directives, underlining the Northern Railway’s dedication to elevating passenger experience and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
