Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Ganderbal and Kulgam districts, a police spokesman informed Tuesday.
He said one Yasir Ahmad Hajam, son of Ghulam Mohammad Hajam of Yangoora (Lar, Ganderbal) was arrested following a raid on his home during which cannabis powder, and some dry and wet ‘Bhung Patri’ (leaves of cannabis plant) were recovered.
In Kulgam, police arrested Dawood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Amin Bhat of Tazipora Mohmadpora, after 7.4 Kg of poppy straw was recovered from his possession, police said.
