Sagar also appreciated the timely intervention of the F&ES department in dousing the flames and preventing the fire from spreading to other buildings in the vicinity. “Revenue teams should rush to the spot and assess the quantum of losses so that the quantum of compensation is also chalked out and distributed forthwith. The Fire tenders have done a tremendous job preventing the flames from spreading to densely populated neighbourhoods,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Party’s Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq has expressed grief over the death of an elderly woman and injuries to many others in her family in a tragic incident of fire in Lal Bazar.

Tanvir prayed for peace to the departed soul and swift recovery of all the injured. He has also impressed upon the concerned authorities to reach out to the affected family with adequate relief and compensation.

He reiterated the demand for a comprehensive review of the fire safety audit of all the densely inhabited areas of the Shahar-e-Khas and of all the historical edifices therein. Sadiq has also sought enhancement of the relief and compensation to the fire victims.
