Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Wednesday.
He said at a checkpoint at Ghat Palhallan, police intercepted two persons travelling on bike (JK01R-8327) and recovered 1.320 Kgs of cannabis powder from their possession. Identified as Ali Mohammad Pandith, son of Mohammad Ismail of Trikolbal Pattan, and Mohammad Rafiq Ahanger, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Mureedoora Hawal Srinagar, both the accused were arrested and a case registered, police said.
Separately, a drug peddler identified as Firdous Ahmad Reshi, son of Mohammad Abdullah Reshi of Khawaja Mohalla Tangmarg, at present Hamza Colony Bemina Srinagar, was booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal orders from the competent authority and lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, police said.
