Final phase of B2V5 prog commences in Bla with massive public participation

BARAMULLA: Marching ahead towards achieving the purpose of the ambitious initiative, the fifth and final phase of the ongoing “Back to Village” Programme (B2V5) today commenced in Baramulla district with the visiting officers holding public engagements in 98 more panchayats across Baramulla district.

A total of 304 panchayats have already been covered across the Baramulla district during the previous phases wherein the respective visiting officers held scores of Gram Sabhas and informed people about the centrally sponsored and UT-run schemes.

With a covering of 98 more panchayats, a target of 402 panchayats of Baramulla district will successfully be saturated, thereby making successful implementation of the ambitious outreach initiative of the government at the grassroots level.

At Baramulla, the mega event was organized at Fatehpora Panchayat wherein the visiting officer, Secretary Law in General Administration Department, Muzaffar Ahmad Wani, accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, Joint Director Planning, M Yousuf Rather, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad and other concerned held a day-long public interaction and assessed the core issues and concerns of the general public.

With the massive participation of people from all the adjacent villages, the public and PRIs extended their warm welcome to the Visiting officer and put forth their major demands pertaining to their aspirations.

The demands and grievances put forth by the PRIs and general public pertained to Jal Shakti, R&B, PDD, Education, Health, Social Welfare and other concerned departments for which they sought the intervention of Secretary Law for early redressal.

The visiting officer listened to the issues of the people patiently and reiterated that all grievances would be taken up with the concerned quarters for timely and early action. He also gave on-the-spot directions to all the concerned departments for redressal of issues of public.

Meanwhile, in the opening ceremony of the mega event, the Secretary Law inspected stalls installed by various departments showcasing their services and facilities being provided to the people.

During the ongoing programme, various colourful cultural activities were performed by school children which mesmerized the participants.

On the occasion, the Visiting Officer also distributed school bags, and baby kits among school children and sanction letters and other certificates among beneficiaries.
