North Zone Inter University Volleyball (Women) Tournament 2023-24

Srinagar: The Kashmir University (KU) is hosting the prestigious North Zone Inter University Volleyball (Women) Tournament 2023-24 beginning Monday (today), bringing together forty-six (46) universities from across North India.

To ensure the seamless execution of this sporting event, KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan and KU Registrar, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir personally reviewed the tournament arrangements.

This sporting event is being organised by the varsity’s Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Expressing her satisfaction for hosting such a significant sporting event at KU, Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan said that she is eager to welcome talented athletes from universities across the North Zone to the campus.

“This tournament will not only showcase the spirit of healthy competition but will also promote the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie among the participants,” she said. Further, the girls who come from different parts of the country will have an opportunity to learn from each other & share the best practices & values

KU Registrar, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir highlighted the meticulous planning that has gone into ensuring the success of the tournament.

“Our dedicated team has worked diligently to ensure that the facilities, accommodation and logistics are well-placed to host this large-scale event. We look forward to a memorable tournament, celebrating the dedication and sportsmanship of the participating teams,” he said.

Sharing his insights into the tournament preparations, the Coordinator of the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES), Dr Nadeem Ahmad Dar said, “The coordination and collaboration among the organisers, participating universities and sponsors has been remarkable. We are fully committed to making this event a grand success.”

The North Zone Inter University Volleyball (Women) Tournament 2023-24 promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent and teamwork and the whole university is eager to welcome participants and spectators alike.

The tournament is scheduled to commence from October 30 (today) to November 2 & is financially supported by AIU, J&K Bank & University itself.
