Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said in Pulwama, at a checkpoint established near Police Post Newa, police arrested one Mudasir Khursheed, son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday of Zadoora, after cannabis powder was recovered from his possession.
In Baramulla, at a checkpoint at Garkote Uri, one Mohammad Ashraf Janjua, son of Mohammad Hussain of Manchikrand Uri was arrested after 4.2 Kgs of cannabis powder was recovered from his possession.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in both these instances, police said.
