Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said a police party at a checkpoint national highway at Bonigam Crossing Qazigund arrested Abdul Rashid Rather alias Mathur, son of Ghulam Hassan Rather, resident of Bonigam after 3.2 kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to the police station for further investigation, police said.
