Adv Neelofar Masood elected as president of Bar Association Baramulla

Baramulla: The Bar Association Baramulla has announced its new leadership, with Advocate Neelofar Masood emerging as the President and Advocate Basharat Khaliq as the Vice President for a two-year term.

The election, supervised by Advocate G.N Ahsan and Advocate Abdul Salam Rather, saw three candidates vying for the position of President. Advocate Nilofer Masood secured an impressive 60 votes, triumphing over her competitors, Advocate Hilal Ahmad Wani, with 42 votes, and Suhail Tariq Wani Advocate, who garnered 17 votes. Consequently, Advocate Nilofer Masood has been elected as the President of the Bar Association Baramulla for the next two years.

The race for the Vice President’s position was equally intense, with Advocate Basharat Khaliq securing 68 votes, defeating Advocate Altaf Hussain, who received 52 votes. Advocate Basharat Khaliq will now serve as the Vice President for the upcoming two-year term.

In the election for General Secretary, Ahmad Umar Bhat Advocate emerged as the winner with a commanding 93 votes, while Advocate Azim Pandith Advocate received 26 votes. For the post of Joint Secretary, Irfan Ahmed Wani Advocate secured 72 votes, surpassing his fellow contestants, Mohd Anayat Advocate with 38 votes, and Arif Hussain Mir Advocate with 10 votes. Irfan Ahmad Wani Advocate is now the Joint Secretary of the Bar Association Baramulla.

The election for the position of Treasurer was a closely fought contest, with Advocate Mohammed Hussain Lone securing 60 votes and Advocate Mohammad Hussain Dar receiving 58 votes. Advocate Mohd Hussain Lone was declared the victorious candidate for the post of Treasurer.

Senior Advocate Abdul Salam Rather expressed his gratitude to all the members of the Bar Association Baramulla for their active support and participation in the election process. He also extended his thanks to Election Commissioner G.N Ahsan and his team for conducting a smooth, fair, and transparent election.
