Advisor Bhatnagar felicitates medal winners of 29th Junior National Thang-Ta Championship 2023 at Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today remarked that the sports infrastructure has been amplified in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir, underlining the government’s commitment to promoting sports here.

The Advisor made these remarks while addressing the medal felicitation ceremony of the 29th Junior National Thang-Ta Championship 2023 at Multipurpose Indoor Hall, Polo Ground here.

This prestigious championship was organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Thang-Ta Association under the auspices of the Thang-Ta Federation of India, with sponsorship from the J&K Sports Council.

Addressing the gathering, Advisor Bhatnagar said that it is remarkable to witness that more than 550 participants are part of this unique championship coming from all parts of our country.

He added that the championship witnessed competitive battles between the participants which reflects its popularity among the youth.

He highlighted that this sport is also getting popular in Jammu and Kashmir with the active participation of youth from all districts.

The Advisor further said that the present LG-led Administration is committed to the empowerment of youth in every field and is constantly nurturing and celebrating young talent in every sphere.

While congratulating medal winners, Advisor Bhatnagar said that such events not only serve as platforms for personal growth and physical fitness but also instil discipline and self-confidence among the participants.

The Advisor also praised the efforts of the Sports Council in hosting this remarkable event, recognizing its potential for future excellence. He also congratulated the organizing committee of the J&K Thang-Ta Association for the successful completion of the championship.

During the felicitation ceremony, Haryana was declared overall team champion with Manipur as the 1st runner-up and Jammu and Kashmir as 2nd of the championship.
