Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Chief Spokesperson and In Charge Constituency Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq has asked the administration to ensure the availability of public transport in Srinagar till late evening hours, particularly on all routes leading to Asar-e-Sharief Dargah Hazratbal.

In a statement released from the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar Tanvir said, “There are reports from different parts of Srinagar regarding the lack of public transport services during evening hours. Because of the non-availability of the facility the commuters particularly the devotees visiting Asar-e-Sharief Dargah Hazratbal suffer enormously. The matter was brought to the notice of concerned authorities frequently by the residents across Srinagar but nothing significant was done to address the situation.”

“The announcement of the starting of an evening government bus service in some areas in Srinagar has not materialized yet. I hope the authorities will find a way out to address the situation at the earliest. The problem must not prolong and the solution should not be delayed,” he said.

Sadiq also asked the administration to provide a fleet of SRTC bus service for the devotees visiting the Hazratbal, and other important shrines across Srinagar in view of the ongoing Milad observance days.
