Jammu: A delegation led by Sukhnandan Choudhary, former minister called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today.
The delegation of newly appointed Junior Assistants, Junior Statistical Assistants, Stenographers led by Choudhary expressed their gratitude to LG for the fast-track recruitment and their appointments in different departments, an official press release informed.
It said Capt (IN) A K Desai, Principal Sainik School Nagrota also met the LG and discussed various issues of the school including infrastructure development, and upcoming projects of the school.
Delegations of All India Gujjar Mahasabha J&K UT led by its president Ch Bashir Kohli, Jammu Chamber of Hot Mix plant Operators led by its chairman, C P Gupta and All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisation led by R K Kalsotra, also called on the LG and apprised him of their concerning issues and demands.
The LG while interacting with members of the delegations assured them of appropriate redressal of the genuine issues and demands presented by them on merit, the press release said.
A separate press release informed that Vikram Randhawa, former legislator called on LG at Raj Bhawan today and expressed gratitude for the policy for recruitment of sports-persons.
The LG assured that the recruitment process will be completed soon and vacant posts in the other departments will also be filled at the earliest.
A delegation led by Ashok Jasrotia, member BJP State Executive Jammu & Kashmir, met the LG and apprised him of various issues and developmental demands which include completion of pending work of Juthana Bridge in Kathua, naming of a road and village after Martyr Surinder Kumar Sharma of Upper Garnari, issue of mobile connectivity in village Sandhi of Samba, completion of pending works of Check Dam on Jakh Nallah.
A delegation of BJP from Poonch led by Asif Azad, district secretary, also called on the LG and put forth demands of construction of Ring Road in Mendhar town, improvement of power infrastructure among other demands.
A delegation of Senior Citizens Support Service Club, Chowadi led by Maj Gen (retd.) SK Sharma, former member SMVDSB, comprising its chairman Dr. Kasturi Lal, former Principal GMC and president Ashok Gupta, former Drug Controller J&K, called on the LG and requested him to make Dogri a compulsory subject in the schools. Kailash Langer, and Raman Gandotra, social activists, were also present.
Later, a delegation of Federation of Industries, led by Lalit Mahajan met the LG and apprised him of the issues related to existing working industrial units of UT of J&K.
The LG assured the members of the delegation of due consideration and appropriate redressal of the genuine issues and demands on merit, press release said.
