“The visiting students were conducted by a team of Officers and JCOs through various facilities and institutions in the garrison including CSD, shopping complex, library, gymnasium, Guest rooms, War memorial, Pak Information room, office complex and officers mess. A brief talk was also delivered by the Dy Cdr, 104 Inf Bde before the commencement of the tour to orient the students towards the aim of the visit wherein he reiterated upon the salient points of the lecture conducted earlier at the college in the month of Aug 23,” the PRO said.

“During the course of the visit, it was heartening to see the enthusiasm and curiosity of the students. The team of officers and JCOs addressed the queries of the students about the various aspects of life in the Armed Forces in detail. The visit culminated with a visit to the Station Officers’ mess where an informal debriefing of the students was carried out by the team of Officers,” he said.

“The students were also assured of all possible help and guidance for preparation for competitive exams for entrance into the officer cadre of the Indian Army. The conduct of events like these goes a long way in broadening the horizons of the students of far-flung areas like Tangdhar and motivating them to scale the uncharted territories in their lives and careers and at the same time further strengthen the bond between armed forces and the local population,” he added.
